Concert Photography & Event Review: Cage The Elephant & SWMRS // UK Tour 2020

This February, I was lucky enough to photograph a headline set that can only be described as electric. Cage The Elephant exploded onto the stage with unmissable energy and a vibrant stage aesthetic to match. From the moment he steps foot on stage, Matt Shultz bounces around the stage with limitless energy, a quality which is always admirable within a set.

Shultz's stage presence is something to be feared, as he can never be found in the same spot for longer than a few seconds. Although this made Cage The Elephant's set a true challenge to shoot, it is worth it, and they are so much fun. Truly electric from start to finish, the show is spurred on by their fans. The connection between the band and their audience is so unique, it was difficult to distinguish who is louder at times. Truly a deep connection.

The setlist is packed with fan favorites from start to finish which only made the crowd sing louder. The interaction between the band and the crowd often saw Shultz on top of the audience which encouraged the energy to excel a level. A band to be feared and loved, their live performance is extraordinary.

Not to be forgotten, SWMRS delivered an equally energetic support act, doing a fantastic job of riling up the crowd in preparation for the headliner. With the American punk rockers in tow, Cage The Elephant led a truly unforgettable night.
