Concert Photography & Event Review: Violet Days // Observatory OC 5.3.19

Riding the calm synth wave of the 2010's indie music boom, Violet Days brought their dreamy alt-pop right to The Observatory OC (in support for The Midnight) for an evening of dance-able beats and ethereal vibes. Lead singer Lina Hannson captivates the audience with her sweet demeanor and clear, powerful vocals perfectly layered over electric keyboard and drums. The group paird their trendy sound with meaningful lyrics dwelling on themes of love, loneliness, and indecision, making for the type of music this generation's indie kids love: pop, but with substance. Tunes you can dance to and also relate to. The group's onstage chemistry is a joy to watch, as the trio can bounce between swaying to soft melodies to jumping around, dancing and joking together, putting on a fantastic show for anyone watching. Violet Days brings the energy, and gives their all on that stage, leaving the crowd in perfumed daze of "woah, what was that?" Catch them at a show and experience it for yourself.
